KONE Residential Flow. The solution brings new levels of convenience for homeowners and tenants by using mobile and cloud technologies to connect building doors, elevators, information channels, and intercom systems via an easy-to-use smartphone application. KONE Residential Flow is being piloted and it is commercially available in six European countries: Finland, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

During 2017, when working at KONE global R&D team, I lead KONE Residential Flow design project, Phillippe Bodart- KONE Belgium, served as main Software Architect. The project managed by Teppo Voutilainen, KONE Head of New Services and Solutions.

When developing KONE Residential Flow, we interviewed more than 200 developers, facility managers, and building residents around the world to understand their challenges and needs related to people flow in residential environments. We learned that many people face challenges with simple tasks like opening the door when carrying groceries or receiving deliveries. KONE Residential Flow takes the stress out of these everyday situations and makes arriving home more intuitive.

The solution brings more flexibility and convenience for building owners and facility managers too, because they can easily share building information and manage access rights from anywhere. By making a building the smartest on the block, KONE Residential Flow also helps to improve its value
